What financing is available

We offer 2 forms of financing here at Warsaw Family Dentistry to help provide the care you need. Our first great option is Care Credit, which offers 6 months deferred interest on amounts more than $200, and also financing options for 24 months with reduced APR on amounts more than $1,000. Secondly, we offer Lending Club, which helps finance larger treatment plans, offering low fixed rates and low monthly payments. Visit www.carecredit.com or lendingclub.com/dental for more information and to apply, or feel free to call our office and speak with Nancy about which option may be best for you.

How do I know if I have gum disease?

Periodontal (gum) disease is the most common cause of tooth loss in adults. Since it is painless, it often goes unnoticed until it has caused damage to the supporting bone structure. Regular dental examinations and cleanings can detect this disease in earlier stages and help to prevent the damage.

How often should I have a checkup?

Most children and adults should see their dentist every six months for a cleaning and checkup. People who have higher dental risk factors may need to see their dentist more than twice a year.

What are dental sealants?

Sealants are a thin plastic coating applied to the biting surfaces of permanent posterior teeth. They are a great way to protect the teeth from cavities.

Can I be asleep or sedated for my appointments?

No, we prefer to help people work through their fears. Dr German is very gentle and makes sure you are numb and comfortable before begining any restorative treatment. We do have TVs attached to the ceiling to help distract you while we are working and also have headphones that connect to our radio to help drown out any sounds you may not like to hear. You are also welcome to bring your own headphones to hook to your phone/Ipod for your own music.

What age should my child be for their 1st visit?

We like to see children starting at age 1. We offer a "knee to knee" exam where the parent holds the child with the child's head resting in the Dr's lap. Dr checks for any abnormalities, how teeth are errupting, and addresses any concerns the parent may have. A topical Fluoride is also placed per Dr German's recommendation if parent agrees.

I have sensitive teeth. What can I do?

There have been many advances in the products available to treat sensitive teeth. We currently have three professional products in our office MI Paste, Vanish XT, and resin materials. MI Paste is dispensed for take home use. Vanish XT is applied in our office lasts for 6 months. The resins (fillings) are placed for long-term protection.

How often do I need x-rays?

On your first appointment Dr. German likes to thoroughly check each area of your mouth to look for any hidden issues below the gum line, in the jaw joints or in-between teeth. For this reason on your first visit we prefer to take a full mouth series of x-rays closely checking each area of your mouth, or a panoramic xray checking your sinus area and jaw joints for any abnormalities that my otherwise be unseen. After your first visit we follow up with yearly cavity checking x-rays.

^

Why do I need x-rays?

There are many parts of the mouth that are unseen with the eye and need x-rays to check on your oral health. The x-rays help us see in-between the teeth for cavities, bone level, tartar build up, and the root of the tooth for any issues that may be lurking unseen.

^

Do you do tooth colored fillings?

We are an amalgam free office, meaning we only do the tooth colored composite fillings. If a patient is interested in replacing their silver (amalgam) fillings we can do so in a simple comfortable appointment(s).
